PROSPERITY DEMYSTIFIED

The term prosperity in Christian circle has been hugely misunderstood. Many believe prosperity has to do with having exceeding wealth and abundance. However, that is only a single-sided view that has corrupted many due to imbalances in the teaching on our pews. Some in the Body of Christ have made it a doctrine. As a result many have pierced themselves with so much sorrows in pursuit to be prosperous. It has been about gaining something which has made many seek God for things negating the relationship. My generation has been bombarded and there's so much pressure to make it in life.

However, after some personal studies and research, I awoke to the revelation that the prosperity many preacher's teach has its root meaning and origin from English. English analysis for prosperity focuses on acquisition, gain and self. During colonization, Britons traveled far and wide acquiring huge territories in Asia, Americas, and Africa. The colonizers used all mean ways to get whatever they wanted in these territories. So, they killed, stole, displaced native people from rich lands. In short, morality was never in their equation for prospering. This has been the attitude with my generation. Remember, the sin of Balaam Son of Peor, he was motivated by substance and influence to follow King Balaak of Moab to curse Israel in Numbers 22. Later Apostle Peter  and Jude speaks it as being a way for those who are misguided loving wages of unrighteousness in 2 Peter 2:15 and Jude 1:11. The actions of Balaam became a method and teaching that led many astray.

The most genuine meaning of prosperity is that obtained from Hebraic culture. According to Jewish culture, prosperity has to do with pursuit of purpose in life. That purpose was seen as  one's assignment with divine mandate. Whether the assignment was secular or spiritual, accomplishing them in life was believed to be a prosperous endeavor. In fulfilling the purpose, wealth was never the motive but solution. The long term implication for walking in that purpose was wealth creation. No wander, Jews today run major multinational industries in the world than any other ethnic group on earth. The assignment focused on finding or  providing solution, not just gaining and self-enrichment, as is with English meaning.

Believers should know our Christian values are largely derived from Hebraic culture not English. Though we are taught in English and speak it, English has limited/ shallow definition for certain Biblical words/ phrases and statements whose root is Jewish. With Jewish approach, we are able to delve into scriptures and know our purpose as believers on earth

Our Lord Jesus Christ said, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all its righteousness and this things shall be added to you". Our number one purpose and assignment in this life as believers is to seek the kingdom of God and fulfill all righteousness. Seeking God's kingdom is not just praying and fasting, studying word and fellowships, though they are basic principles that lead to fulfilling all righteousness, rather it also includes discovering your God given abilities towards advancing kingdom mandate on earth. This means once a believer knows his/her assignment, does it righteously and fulfills that assignment in life, according to God that believer is prosperous. This kind brings fulfillment, contentment/ satisfaction, peace and joy. Wealth/ material gain has never been the indicator for prosperity according to the scriptures.

There are so many people- a cloud of witnesses - who prospered in their assignments. Some attracted wealth others didn't. Abraham had massive wealth when God called him. Yet God still told Abraham that in blessing he will bless him. The only assignment for Abraham was to believe God in every step of his walk with him. Faith became Abraham's pursuit not material gain. Yet the man died more wealthier than when God called him.

Amram and Jochabed, by giving birth to Moses; that alone fulfilled their assignment. According to God they were prosperous. Mary allowing God to use her to bring Jesus on earth prospered in that assignment. Manoah and his wife giving birth to Samson and following instruction given to them were prosperous in God's sight. Zechariah and Elizabeth bringing John the Baptist prospered also.

After Ruth was widowed, she had the opportunity to find a wealthy man all by herself and marry. But that was never her intention. She rather choose to follow Naomi who was hopeless and in deep bitterness for loosing her husband and two sons. Ruth's decision to continue with Naomi and live with her in the long-run landed her to Boaz, a wealthy and honorable elderly man.

Gideon who saw himself powerless and from a small clan when the angel of the Lord appeared to him and revealed his true purpose and assignment, Gideon later ruled Israel. In ancient times it was wickedness to become a ruler and remain poor. People would come bless their ruler with gold and silver. The man prospered. Joshua's prosperity was anchored on daily study and meditation of the books of law. As long as he followed all that was written he prospered in his assignment to settle Israelite in Canaan.

Solomon sought after wisdom to rule Israel, God's people. His desire so impressed God that he blessed the man with so massive wealth to a point that silver became a common thing in his days.  Joseph, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, Esther, Mordecai and many others, prospered in the area of leadership and were blessed. The emperor dared Esther to ask whatever she wanted even  half of  Persian empire would be given to her. But her purpose was never wealth rather saving her people.

The apostles mission was to advance the Gospel. Yet many died poor. Apostle Paul said, though they are poor outwardly yet they make many rich. Imagine if Apostle Paul's motive was to collect offerings wherever he went, he would be the richest Apostle of all times. But in certain areas, he worked with his own hands to supply for himself and those with him, not becoming a burden to those he's preaching to lest the Gospel be hindered. Paul as other apostles fulfilled their purpose as given to them by God.

Yet many others, who Apostles Paul, Peter, John and James speak about, lost the genuine  passion to advance the gospel and turned to the error of Balaam, motivated and captivated with unrighteous wages and gains. It was about self, their bellies and not Christ and him crucified. Think of Prophet Elisha who had just healed a billionaire commander by the name Namaan. The prophet refused to take gifts worth millions. Gehaz run after them only to loose his purpose in life (double anointing) and received the curse of leprosy.

Prosperity has all to do with fulfilling assignments not just after gaining wealth. In the process of fulfilling our assignment wealth manifests. We begin gaining as we continue in our divine assignments. However, in pursuit to fulfill the assignment growth is very essential. Imbalanced growth  corrupts the fulfillment of the assignment. This attributes to morality issues. We have people with great assignments but corrupt morally. This hinders their advancement.

Did you know that  running after wealth, introduces one to corrupt ways? That's the reason for all evil in today's generation- the love for money(wealth). Young men are under pressure to make it, as a result they are into all manner of schemes; money swindling pyramids, stealing, betting, or enter into occult. Young girls now break marriages to get married men for themselves. Prostitution has been redefined it's about sponsors. The recent celebrity culture has made our girls to go naked without shame to get more views and subscriptions and earn more. Content creators now focus more on sexual arousing content to remain relevant. Wickedness now sales more. Even simple business adverts have sex connotations attached to them. Business people now use all shoddy ways of doing business just to ink more profit than they should. The society is salvage. Man eat man society. Corruption in every level in the society. Get rich-quick syndrome has plagued my generation.

In church, some have come up with prophecies that targets believer's pockets, wallets and bank accounts. Those without knowledge and understanding are swindled to continuous poverty. Some churches have programs where God is not and has never been the guest rather the man of gold to get extra coin. People go home with burdens and tormented with evil spirit yet the man of gold goes home with fat account. Men of gold now sale holy -pens, -water, -handkerchief, -oil, -salt, -soil and many more. Men have invented new ways of sinning and many applaud them for such inventions.

But thanks be to God, He's rising genuine shepherds who are motivated by the assignment given to them than gaining wealth. And to believers who are willing to be taught and bear sound doctrine are being delivered from devil's schemes.

THE GOSPEL CAMPAIGN

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. - Philippians 2:9-11

GMO FOOD IN KENYA? WHAT THIS MEANS?

I can contrast GMO foods to COVID-19 Vaccine. There were speculations that the vaccine facilitates the spread of the virus. Common mwananchi had no clear information because of political syndrome that nested the nation. We give politics much attention than we should to scholars and scientists whose research and findings touch our daily lives.

The rapid development  of institutions and technology has seen a surge preference for urban lifestyle especially among the youthful population in Kenya. The thirst for affluence and opulent lifestyle has been insatiable with emergence of local celebrities. The trend has piled pressure on youngsters who are pursuing money and wealth instead of working through the process. Many are into illegal businesses, schemes, betting and crime.

Agriculture has been the top economic force in Kenya. However, efforts to emphasize  youths to venture into it has been very little or not at all. All want white or blue color jobs. As a result, most lands go untapped in rural areas since the elderly can only farm during "planting season."  Due to lack of potential manpower and interest among the youths, subsistence farming has continually thrown this nation into food crisis with skyrocketing prices. There's a need to advocate for change. The narrative of "Ukulima hilipi" must shift.

Thanks for commercialization but Agriculture is the most understaffed economic activity in Kenya. Many have head knowledge and only a few venture in the sector. Productivity has been severely hit. Little food production means high prices. With high prices in place, the jobless population in urban areas become the concern of the government whose efforts to fix food crisis has been a perennial nightmare.

And here comes GMO Food, to supplement the food shortage in our country.

If youths embrace agriculture as it were, then Kenya will feed the entire continent. Think of Egypt, a desert nation yet its leading in wheat production in Africa. Not to mention Israel! Just because there's technology, it's not enough. Man power is key. There's so much untapped potential in Agriculture and in the youthful population is the solution.

IS FAFI CONSTITUENCY MP SALA YAKUB REMARKS MISGUIDED?

The resent remarks by MP Sala Yakub for Fafi Constituency that presidential term limit be removed and age limit set to cub elderly from vying is inconsequential. The remarks comes at time when the country is facing economic uncertainty with biting drought and famine which are being addressed by HE President William Ruto. The narrative is immature and only made to destruct Kenyans from focusing on reviving the sick economy into unnecessary politics of fox and hare.

The MP has not delivered to his constituents in this new regime, yet he's audacious enough to prick that sore path of constitutional change. In my view, Hon Yakub should face party's disciplinary committee and decease from such utterances. The constitutional reforms in this country has been a hot potato second to highly contested elections whose back stopped in Supreme Court for hearing and judgment.

How about media? Media seems to laud these nonsense claims through their platforms especially the print. Why put such utterances on front pages of newspaper? Why not publish economic and climate reforms being undertaken on front pages to give Kenyans hope. We need hope not politics. We need reforms not politics. We need to see trans-formative agenda being discussed, implemented and done to better Kenyans. Media should be keen to give Kenyans hope not retrogressive politics.

CAN FAITH REALLY SAVE IN THIS SEASON OF ADVERSITIES???

CAN FAITH REALLY SAVE IN THIS SEASON OF ADVERSITIES????

We are in times when adversities seem to rage against humanity in full force. Little had the economies of the world emerge from the pangs of COVID-19 than the recessions in global markets struck worsened further by Russian-Ukrainian war.  Life has become unbearable to many save a few with little to enjoy.

Life burden seem to multiple daily and governments are working hard to aid their citizens whereas some governments are deadbeat. Joblessness, massive layoffs and unfavorable business environment that does not allow SMEs to grow efficiently are some of major challenges humanity face.

However, there's hope in God if we only express faith in Him and His promises. It's written the just shall live by faith. In the face of reality, only faith in God can make humanity to be steadfast. Think of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego facing the 7 times hotter fiery furnace; even so they trusted in God Almighty. And God honored their faith in Him by delivering them from the furnace and from the hand of King Nebuchadnezzar. These times need faith in God.

In Kenya, there's so much that is happening; drought and famine, economic uncertainty, unemployment, increase in crime rates; in the face of all this, except we have faith in God in everything, we can't stand. The promises of God are yes and amen. When we set our hearts to God, He will do the impossible. Remember in human history, there were times when strong men fainted. None of their plan succeeded. There strength abated. They failed. But when they called on the name of the LORD they were saved and glorified Him.

Let's not loose our confidence in God. He will surely deliver us from all the troubles. Amen

CHURCH UNDER SIEGE IN KENYA

CHURCH UNDER SIEGE IN KENYA

The wind of politics every five years is the destructive storm that shakes and expose the weakness of the Church in Kenya. We've continually been swayed time and again by the political elites who use the Church as a ladder to power. And we end up shredded among ourselves as believers than non-believers.

Whenever the Church seek to assert influence over anything without the proper communication of the Gospel, that without, haunts us afterwards. As a result our self-made monuments end up degrading and devaluing our sanctity in the society. We can do nothing proper as a church without the Gospel for its the most powerful tool of transformation to any given society if properly communicated.

However, it seems we are not yet nourished by the Gospel because of the  division among us believers. For we know, a house divided against itself can never stand. This means, our communication of the Gospel in this country has been diluted by a sinister force behind the shadows or our best to communicate God's purpose to believers isn't the best yet. Therefore, its easy to use men (politicians who seem to have conformed and embraced the values of the Gospel without genuine transformation) as monuments to assert influence in government. The danger comes when the monsters in these men/women manifests through massive scandals, public looting, immorality etc and the general public points finger to us believers saying "HUYO NI WA KANISA"...That alone brings shame to us, because they have not been transformed by the Gospel but by our soulish association with them.

Our conduct as believers in the just concluded elections this year has divided us exposing the immaturity in us. Who said that every prophecy or revelation we get on any matter especially politics must be posted on social media? Don't we know only in part and prophecy in part? Where is it written that if our preferred candidate wins then we truly hear God? Who told us that, when our preferred candidate fails we should leave fellowship as brethren and get angry towards other brethren and more so  God ? Don't we know that God is sovereign? Raiders have invaded us in the dark shadow of politics, and we are so quick to be divided on their account. The fashion has always been Party A 'church' verses Party B 'church' including our shepherds and we are so vocal about this more vocal than soul winning. When was the last time we corporately won souls as local churches? My fears are, soul winning in certain parts of this country might be an uphill task because of our conduct as believers.

The truth is many of our shepherds have been struck by the rode of politics and we the sheep have scattered. Very few are mindful of the sheep. It might take longer before many are restored because they have built for themselves cisterns that cant hold water, and have forsaken God in pursuit for influence. I pray they recover and be restored for our sake -the sheep.

Did you not know, that posting a photo with anyone on social media identifies you  with the person? Actually it validates your support for the individual. And this is what many witty politicians do with our shepherds. So, in the eye of average believers they are validated and easily gain our support. Think of this, our beloved shepherds...in as much as choosing leaders is a personal choice, your influence over us goes deeper than you think. Whenever you validate any aspirant, many at times we vote for them. But the danger is, have they been transformed by the Gospel? Do you have a testimony of them? Do you even trust them? Or was that brown envelop your motivation to validate them and not the guidance of the Holy Spirit? We the sheep are so much undernourished, we need the Gospel. We need transformation. No wonder, we behave wildly and criticize one another openly on social media, we are no longer tolerant towards each other. We no longer accept rebuke from Fathers of Faith. We are so mindful of ourselves than others....there's a problem with our growth in the Faith.

Unless we go back and disciple believers by communicating the Gospel properly, as the church we will blame ourselves when the society harden their heart towards this great message that saves.

I long for a time when, whether our preferred candidates win or loose in election we will still be united as Church in Kenya with brotherly love and united for a common purpose, soul winning and transforming the society through the Gospel.

Yes its possible.

Thanks for our Fathers and Ministers of the Gospel who have continually been equipping believers through the Gospel by holding conferences, seminars etc bringing believers and shepherds from all ministries together in what is known as APOSTOLIC GATHERING.
